Schwäbisch Gmünd, Deutschland - Schwäbisch Gmünd is full of movement! On January 11, 2024, there is a special reason to be happy: The EIS-Arena opens its gates on the Gmünder Marktplatz and promises a long, snow-white ice skating season until March 9th. The synthetic ice surface, which has existed since 2022, is very popular because it is not only more environmentally friendly and needs less energy, but also reduces the risk of injury. "We often had to call the ambulance on real ice," explains Lisa-Maria Herrmann from Touristik & Marketing GmbH. The admission prices remain stable: Adults are allowed to go on the ice for only five euros for a whole day, while children and young people can have fun for four euros. It is already clear: ice skating is an experience for the whole family here! Like the Remszeitung reports, even rental slide shoes are ready in all sizes - from 25 to 50 - so that nobody has to be excluded.

In addition to the ice skating pleasure, Schwäbisch Gmünd also stands for the regional trade fair "Garden, Gold & Gsälz", which took place on September 16 and 17. Garden lovers and families get their money's worth here: 129 exhibitors presented everything from plants to jewelry to regional delicacies. Robert Frank, organizer of the fair, emphasizes that the visitors could see hunting dogs in action, among other things - a real eye -catcher for the whole family! The highlight was the competition for the best Gsälz, in which numerous creative mixtures were tasted, including unusual combinations such as cucumber with bourbon vanilla. Also the Gmünder daily mail is full of praise for this colorful mix of nature and creativity. An exciting supporting program put on young and old and made the event a full success.
