TSB Gmünd: Coach Fröhlich warns about underestimated opponent Wangen!

Schwäbisch Gmünd.Next Sunday there is a decisive handball game on the program for TSB Gmünd. After a narrow defeat against league leaders SG Köntreiben/Teningen, in which the team was on equal terms until the last minute, coach Aaron Fröhlich and his team want to improve their home record against third-from-bottom MTG Wangen. “We have digested the first defeat well and are full of energy,” explains Fröhlich, who wants to take the motivation from the last game with him.

The TSB defense, which is the best in the league with just 27.5 goals conceded, remains stable under Fröhlich's supervision. Nevertheless, the loss of the ball in attack is a big problem: “We made too many mistakes that cannot be repaired,” said the coach. Despite the high expectations raised by the current table position, Fröhlich remains calm: “I have zero interest in the promotion race.” Instead, he concentrates on the challenges ahead and warns against the Wangeners, who have already collected important points in the relegation battle.

The people of Wangen have made a clear statement

The guests from Wangen have impressively proven in the last few games that they should not be underestimated. They got back into the relegation battle with a narrow win against HSG Ostfildern and a home win against TSV Weinsberg. MTG coach Tobias Müller sees the upcoming game as a “bonus game” and is convinced that his team will play with renewed self-confidence. “If you score points as an outsider, your task is often easier,” said Müller.

On the TSB side, Fröhlich can rely on an almost complete team. Players like Tom Abt and Arian Pleißner are fit again after injuries, and the team is hoping for additional boost with Louis Waldraff, who shone in the national league. “He gives our game new input,” says Fröhlich, praising the 20-year-old. The duel against Wangen promises excitement and could be crucial for TSB Gmünd to further expand their home record.
