A tragic accident shook Erlangen on Monday afternoon! There was a devastating industrial accident in a new development area in Steudach that claimed the life of a 50-year-old construction worker. At around 4:20 p.m., a construction crane overturned for unknown reasons, hitting the worker who was on the ground. Despite immediate first aid, the man could not be saved and died at the scene of the accident.
Shock on the construction site
The dramatic scenes took place on the construction site on Am Klosterholz Street. Fortunately, the other workers did not suffer any physical injuries, but were treated by emergency services to deal with the psychological consequences of the terrible incident. The exact course of the accident and the causes are currently unclear and are the subject of intensive investigations by the Erlanger Criminal Investigation Department.
