Weimar welcomes new guitar professor: Petra Poláčková enthusiastically!

Weimar. An exciting chapter begins at the Weimar Music University: The talented Czech Petra Poláčková will be the new professor for guitar! From December 1st, she will strengthen the Institute for Guitar and bring a fresh wind to musical training.

The 39-year-old Poláčková, born in Rožnov Pod Radhoštěm, has already had an impressive career. At the age of just six, she started her musical journey at the music school "Lounských" in Prague and continued her studies in Pardubice and Graz. She recently demonstrated her artistic skills at the Johann Joseph Conservatory in Graz and at the Royal Academy of Music in Denmark. Now she brings her extensive experience in Weimar!

Institute director Ricardo Gallén is enthusiastic about the new colleague: "Petra Poláčková has great vitality and excellent teamwork skills. Your talent and her call in the guitar world are impressive!" Gallén emphasizes that it shines on both ancient and modern instruments and interpreted contemporary music with ease. Her passion for the romantic guitar and the specially composed music will certainly inspire the students.
