Liszt-Haus, 99423 Weimar, Deutschland - A masterpiece awakens to new life! Just in time for his 213rd birthday, the wing used by Franz Liszt was ceremoniously presented in the Weimar Liszt-Haus. After extensive restoration by the renowned company C. Bechstein, which made this historical instrument from 1881 again playable again, it now shines in new splendor. The classic Foundation Weimar and the University of Music Franz Liszt Weimar are the actors behind this impressive project!
The internationally celebrated pianist Can çakmur, trained at the Weimar Music University, sounded the keys of the wing and played some of the great works by Liszt. This famous composer lived in Weimar from 1869 until his death in 1886, and in his former house he gave numerous international students. The wing was a loyal companion of Liszt until its last breath, and now the music community has the opportunity to bring this important piece of history to life again.
