Zella-Mehlis starts the digital future: fiber optic expansion is progressing!

In Zella-Mehlis, the digital revolution becomes tangible! The fiber optic network has been expanded by the German fiber optic since May 2023, and the first house connections are already active! Mayor Torsten Widder praises the excellent cooperation with the company and thanks his predecessor Richard Rossel for the brave step into the digital future. Over 33 percent of households have chosen the lightning -fast internet connection, which made it possible to build three main distributors in April 2023.

The construction work is progressing quickly! The civil engineering work is almost complete in the core city, while 65 percent of the work is already done in Benshausen and Ebertshausen. Irina Herber, project manager at Deutsche Glasfaser, is optimistic: "We are making step by step." The anticipation for the activation of the connections grows, because as soon as the construction work has been completed, the national fiber optic connection is realized.

The next steps are clear: little by little the pre -built house connections will be completed. This ensures that all households in the expansion area that have chosen a fiber optic connection can soon benefit from speeds of up to 1000 megabits per second.
