regatta under ideal conditions
at 10:30 a.m. On Saturday the starting shot for an exciting regatta in the up-and-down course with five boats of the sailing Bundesliga class J/70. At cool ten degrees Celsius and a light wind of four to six knots, a total of 12 races could be finished on the first day. On Sunday, at similar temperatures, but a stronger wind, we went to the decisive final races, where the best five teams demonstrated their skills.
This championship was more than just a competition for the host sailing club: it marked the ceremonial opening of the newly built seaport and experience education center (SEZ) in monastery. The event was a complete success, and the club chairman Carsten Busch was enthusiastic about the course and thanked the participants and helpers for their commitment. The cross-border regatta emphasizes the cooperation between the state sailing associations that has existed since 2017 and strengthens the joint training and competition measures, which once again showed how successful cooperation across borders looks.
