Crossing through change: lock renovation, stumbling block and youth club debate!
Crossen. excitement in Crossen on the Elster! A stolen stumbling block, an unused youth club and a chic castle in a new shine - there is a lot going on here! Mayor Herbert Zimmermann announced some exciting news at the last council meeting that concerns the citizens.
The Crossener Castle soon shines in new light! After the painting work, the scaffolding will be broken down, but the east side remains equipped until next year, as cleaning work and balcony renovations are still due there. The west side is already finished, and the new windows and doors are to be used by spring 2025. In the meantime, a detour causes excitement: the level crossing at the Hartmannsdorf - Silbitz roundabout remains closed until Friday, November 8th. The detour leads over Caaschwitz, which in particular annoys truck drivers who want to pass the Rauda Bridge, which is only approved for vehicles up to 3.5 tons.
important developments and challenges
Another hot topic is the planned replacement of the stumbling stumbling block in Flemmingstrasse. The niece of the sacrifice immortalized there will replace him at his own expense and plans a commemoration for the inauguration. But not only that: the beavers in the Region also cause trouble! Their activities have already led to damage, and despite the installed pipes on the Biberdamm, the animals are a constant problem. Mayor Zimmermann complains that the Flossgrabenverein has to empty the pipes every day while the field wins.
There are also news for the sports enthusiasts of the community: soccer goals are to be set up on the old sports field so that the kids can also play on Sundays. This is particularly important because many adults climb over the fence to play illegally. In addition, the building yard may be laid to improve working conditions. And not to forget: winter service is ready! Salt and scattered goods are in stock until January so that the streets remain safe even with snow and ice.
