Driving communities in the ILM district: Save CO2 now and avoid traffic jams!

In an exciting pilot project in the Erfurt Cross industrial area near Arnstadt (Ilm-Kreis), a new smartphone app is being developed to revolutionize carpools! District Administrator Petra Enders (independent) announced on Wednesday that this innovative project serves to reduce CO2 emissions and avoid annoying traffic jams. The cooperation between the district, the initiative of Erfurt Cross and the app provider "Goflux" is now officially sealed!

The app will enable users to easily organize their carpools. Drivers can indicate when and where they drive while passing through their route from the front door to the finish. So the formation of carpools becomes child's play! The app not only determines the best carpools, but also the optimal entry and exit points. And the best thing about it? Public transport is also included in the planning!

massive financial support for the project

With generous funding of almost 240,000 euros from the ILM district, this ambitious project is supported. In addition, the Initiative Erfurt Cross provides 10,000 euros annually as an incentive to make the formation of carpools even more attractive. Drivers receive an allowance, while passengers only have to pay a small contribution. Particularly exciting: people with a public transport ticket are usually free to start!

The project that is scheduled to start at the beginning of next year promises not only a relief for the streets and a reduction in CO2 emissions, but also a strengthening of the community. The anticipation for the implementation is great and the first steps are already taken!
