Princely Christmas in Greiz: A festival of the senses and historical delights!
Festive and glamorous is in Greiz, where the Princely Christmas is celebrated again in the lower castle! On Sunday, December 15th, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the atmospheric residence lock of the Prince Reuss Aelterer line transformed into a true winter wonderland. In elegant historical costumes, the members of the court invite the visitors to enjoy the festive atmosphere and the sensational offers, as removed from a fairy tale, reports Blick .
As part of this great event, guests can expect a variety of events that will pamper the senses. From historical fashion shows to Advent concerts to culinary highlights - there is something for everyone. The Christmas café in the princely gallery is particularly tempting, where lovingly baked delicacies can be enjoyed. The delicacies, including the traditional pomerance, which gives the "hot bishop" its special taste, bring the story of the 18th century alive. At this special festival, over 50 oysters were served in the castle courtyard alone, and a seductive Christmas market was lured with handmade goods and festive delicacies, such as Vogtlandspiegel reported.
a festival for the senses
The event was also a great success this year: around 1700 guests visited the Princely Christmas and enjoyed the festive atmosphere in the historical ambience. A highlight was the concert "Letters to Santa Claus" and the musical contributions from the pupils of the local music school. The enchanting doll rooms and the big Christmas exhibition were just as well received and caused shining eyes with young and old. The mix of history, culinary and art made this day an unforgettable experience that visitors will not be forgotten so quickly.
