Dancing in the Shadow: Weimar becomes a musical stage!
Weimar. The exciting musical series "Dancing in the Shadow" celebrates her film screening in the Weimar Mon Ami Kino. The special thing about this independent production is that it comes directly from Thuringia.
In the history of this series, which was launched by the film collective Colorgraphie from Erfurt, the focus is on six young protagonists who want to realize their dream of the spotlight in a dance group. The first three episodes will be shown on Wednesday, October 9, at 6:30 p.m., followed by an exciting film discussion. Then the director Mikael Kuetchche and the producer Tamara Kollmeder will be available to answer questions from the audience.
The topics of the series
"Dancing in the Shadow" goes far beyond dancing and deals with the essential topics of individuality, diversity, community and identity. Director Mikael Kuetches explains: "I want to tell a story about superhero women who are free of superhuman forces. A story about the everyday heroes that play a role in our lives - like you and me." This approach to the character presentation offers a refreshing perspective on everyday challenges.
The shooting was carried out in Ilmenau three years ago, a place that is of great importance for Kuetches. "The choice of location was easy because Ilmenau and Thuringia shaped my artistic development," he emphasizes. The entire production included around 250 people who worked together on this creative project.
With a term of 45 minutes per episode, the series not only impresses with gripping stories, but also with original choreographies and specially composed songs that round off the entire work. Entry to the film screening in the Mon Ami Kino is free of charge, which facilitates access to this artistic representation.
