Thuringian lifeguards conquer podium at championships in Hanover!

In a spectacular competition of the best lifeguards in Germany, the Thuringian athletes impressively drawn attention to themselves at the 51st German all-around championships in Hanover! From November 1st to November 32, 32 of the best athletes in the country competed, and the Thuringians started the race with a strong delegation from Eisenach and Weimar. The competition was hard, but the Thuringians showed that they can assert themselves at the highest level!

"The rescue sport in Germany is at an incredibly high level," emphasizes Andreas Zündel, the national coach from Weimar. The Thuringian athletes not only bravely beaten, but also achieved remarkable placements in the age groups. Thimo Lange from Weimar landed in 8th place in the AK12, while Theo Hetzer took 9th place in AK13/14 - both in the top 10! But that wasn't all. The team disciplines, in which the Thuringians are traditionally strong, brought further successes: the relay of the AK12 male from Weimar secured the runner -up title, and the boys of the age group 13/14 got a bronze medal!

The Thuringian lifeguards not only demonstrated their individual skills, but also shone as a team. The handover of rescue devices was perfectly coordinated, and small mistakes were avoided, which led to excellent placements. The Weimar men of the 17/18 age group reached a respectable 8th place and thus set another sign of the strong youth work in Thuringia. The championships are not only a sporting highlight, but also an incentive for the athletes and trainers to continue their training efforts and continue to be involved in volunteering.
