THSV Eisenach strengthens with Swedish striker Oskar Joelsson!

The Thuringian handball club ThSV Eisenach has committed a significant new addition to the coming season. The Swedish back area player Oskar Joelsson moves from Ystads IF to the Eisenacher and will be part of the team from summer 2025. Joelsson, who is 24 years old and 1.97 meters tall, is one of the most successful goal scorers in his current club. The player comes from Helsingborg, Sweden, and has signed a contract until June 30, 2027, such as Sportschau reported.

Joelsson has been playing for Ystads IF since summer 2023, where he scored 88 goals and 51 assists after 17 games in the current season. With these achievements, he has established himself as a most successful thrower and as the second best preparer of his team. Ystads IF is currently at a six-point lead at the top of the table of the Swedish handball league and celebrated the winning of the Swedish cup competition in 2024, as well as THSV Eisenach confirmed.

important perspectives

The obligation of Oskar Joelsson comes at a time when head coach Misha Kaufmann will leave the club in summer. In addition, the possible departure of national player Marko Grgic is considered, which is courted by several top clubs. Joelsson could thus come into play as a potential replacement for grgic.

It is particularly worth mentioning that Joelsson in the European League scored ten goals in two qualifications and contributed a total of 38 goals in six group games. A highlight of his previous season was an impressive game against Chrobry Glogow, in which he scored ten goals in the 36:30 win.
