The employees of the automotive museum, led by their committed museum leaders and volunteers, went on an exciting journey of discovery in the Thuringian Forest. The trip initially led to the city museum of Zella-Mehlis, where visitors dived into the fascinating world of Ehrhardt. The exhibition "Die Schunstanstalt" illuminates its achievements and automotive production, which he continued in his hometown in the 1920s. Museum employees Frank Eiselt not only offered the Eisenacher's profound insights into the local history, but also opened the doors to the museum's archives and depots. After lunch together, we continued to the Suhl vehicle museum, where the participants were led by the impressive collection of museum director Torsten Orban.
insights into automotive history
The two -hour tour in the Suhl vehicle museum was a highlight that focused not only the exhibits, but also the questions about the presentation, dealing with loan and didactics of knowledge transfer. The long-term cooperation between the Vehicle Museum Suhl and the automobile world Eisenach reflects the similar history of both locations, which acted as important vehicle manufacturers and IFA combinat companies in the GDR. These experiences and the exchange of knowledge are crucial for the preservation and conveying of the automotive history in the region.
