Creative project week: LEGO delights children in Eisenach!
In the Eisenach city library, an exciting project week for creative minds is on the program. During the second week of the autumn vacation, the place turns into a center for children between the ages of eight and ten who are enthusiastic about technology. As part of the “First Lego League”, the young inventors are divided into groups and are working on a common goal: they build, engine and program a LEGO model under the motto “underwater world”. This initiative not only promotes technical knowledge, but also teamwork, problem -solving skills and creativity, which is of great value for the personal development of children.
The "First Lego League" is an international education initiative that is particularly aimed at MINT subjects (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology). From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the twelve participants will compete against each other in three teams to present their creative solutions. The enormous interest in the holiday offer can be seen in the fact that, as in the previous year, the places were quickly fully booked. For the children, healthy lunch meals are also provided by volunteers in the neighborhood center, an important support organized by the Eisenach volunteer agency. The project is financed by Lindig Fördertechnik GmbH.
advisory and information day in the Gerstunger Rautenkranz
On Tuesday, October 8th, an important information and advice day will take place in Gerstungen in the “Zum Rautenkranz” citizens' hall. Here the Federal Archives, more precisely the Stasi documents archive in Erfurt, will offer everyone interested the opportunity to inform themselves about inspection of files and submit applications. The archive employees are available from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to explain the legal provisions of the inspection of the files. For example, they inform about how citizens can receive access to information about themselves or deceased relatives.
Visitors who want to make an application for inspection in Stasi documents or want to repeat existing applications should have a valid personnel document. This event enables citizens to learn more about their own history or that of their families, and offers a valuable opportunity to deal with the past.
New residential area in Eisenach
Another important step in urban development was taken with the entry into force of the development plan No. 11 for the new residential area of Petersberg/Schützenstraße in Eisenach. This project is of crucial importance for the creation of urgently needed living space in the region. "Many families are looking for opportunities to stay in Eisenach and find their own property. In the past, many have chosen new buildings outside the city," said Mayor Christoph Ihling (CDU). Various building options, including single-family, double and apartment buildings as well as house groups, are conceivable for the new area.
The city administration plans close cooperation with future development agents and construction companies as well as the population to ensure that the new residential projects are adapted and sustainable to the needs of the community. Among other things, a residential area with a fire water center, a staircase, a playground and publicly accessible greenery are planned. This initiative stands for targeted urban development that benefits the residents of Eisenach and gives young families the opportunity to stay in their familiar surroundings.
