Integration in the Wartburg district: Network gathered over 70 players!

Eisenach, Deutschland - On October 14, 2024, the Eisenach automotive museum experienced a real rush! Over 70 participants flocked to the second meeting of the Integration Wartburgkreis network, which was spectacularly organized by the engagement of the integration manager Kevin Rodeck and Ashkan Nekoueian. There were explosive topics on the agenda such as new legal regulations in the law on the naturalization and the specialist immigration law. Appropriately, the situation and the challenges in the region were impressively presented by a wealth of numbers and facts.

dr. Gernot Herzer, the talented moderator from the Institute for Local Planning and Development (IKPE), opens the meeting with a gripping overview of the integration work in Thuringia. "The network offers the actors the platform to bundle the efforts in the district as part of the integrated planning and pull together together," emphasizes Heizer. The district administrator, Dr. Michael Brodführer, underlined the importance of cohesion in society in his rousing lecture and emphasized the need for a quick and sustainable integration for newcomers.

diverse working groups show commitment

The commitment of the five working groups for language support, labor market, advice centers, living and projects was unmistakable. These groups, which work under the coordination of integration management and external skilled workers, have set themselves the task of actively promoting integration. From professional trade fair participations to surveys to an apartment driver's license-the plans are ambitious and promising. A Highlight was the announcement of the 24th professional market of the Wartburg district, which will take place on October 26th!

The meeting was rounded off with fascinating information about current funding programs and integration courses. The Thuringian Agency for Special Volume (THAFF) also presented itself and offered valuable insights into immigration for skilled workers. Despite the positive developments, there are challenges: At the moment you can see yourself faced with a waiting time of over half a year for participating in integration courses - a serious problem that cannot be ignored.
