Eisenach-Nord. Immediately the professional fire brigade Eisenach and voluntary fire departments from Eisenach-Mitte and Neukirchen with 22 firefighters moved. Their work was like a race against time when they deleted the fire and ventilated the smoky corridors and basement. The residents experienced a shock moment - while some had to stay in their apartments, others were brought to safety via smoke -free paths. Just 23 minutes later, at 11:58 a.m., the fire alarm system in the St. Georg Clinic alarm triggered! A trash can caught fire in a toilet. The house technology employees reacted at lightning speed and said goodbye to greater damage. 14 volunteers from the weirs from Stregda and Neuenhof started fighting the fire. The good news: The clinic continued with little restrictions because operating theaters and medical facilities were not affected. Two corridors and the reception were slightly smoky, but quickly brought back.

Markus Weigelt, the head of the Eisenach professional fire brigade, praised the brave helpers for their tireless efforts. Fortunately, there were no injuries in both missions! The residential building and the clinic did not have to be evacuated, which relaxed the situation for the completely concerned citizens. During the fire brigade operation, other weirs in the city secured basic protection.
