A tragic incident that shakes the community was the immoral harassment of two young girls on September 30th in Altenburg. The two girls, 13 and 14 years old, hiked around 3:25 p.m. on Kreuzstrasse when they were addressed by an unknown man. One of the young people reported that the man touched her on the upper body. Despite immediately initiated searches, the perpetrator has not yet been caught. The criminal police have started the investigation and asks possible witnesses to report on 03 65/82 34 - 14 65. The suspect is between 30 and 40 years old, about 1.90 meters tall and wore a red backpack.

In a contrasting topic, the city council of Schmölln deals with the needs of the younger generation. On September 26, an Initiative was launched by the SPD faction, which provides for a youth survey at the city's schools. The aim of this survey is to raise the opinions of elementary school students and young people of secondary schools.It should be found out how the young people use the existing leisure opportunities and what wishes they have for future rooms and activities. The results of this survey will serve as the basis for planning the city council and could help improve the leisure activities for young people in the future.
Oktoberfest in Podelwitz
