Faschings fever in Altenburger Land: Here are the best events!

In Altenburger Land, the carnival season will be celebrated with numerous events again this year. A total of 14 carnival clubs offer a varied program for young and old. Particularly noteworthy is the carnival association Motor Altenburg, which opens its 28th season in the tenne of the brewery. The women's carnival takes place on January 25, 2025, admission begins at 7.30 p.m., admission is 11.11 euros, as an early bird ticket you can access it online for 8.11 euros.

For the children there will be a children's carnival from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on February 15, admission begins at 2 p.m. Here children pay 1 euro and adults 3 euros. On the same day from 9 p.m., the Motorfasching starts with an admission price of 11.11 euros (early bird 8.11 euros, only online). Groups have the opportunity to acquire 11 tickets for 100 euros, the 11th person will then receive free admission. The Lucka Carnival Club (LKC) appears with its 43rd season, under the motto "Crazy and animal colorful". The big youth fasching will take place on February 15th at 8:30 p.m., with admission at 8 p.m. Tickets cost 11 euros in advance and 15 euros at the box office. Two evening events are on the program on February 22nd and March 1st, each at 7.11 p.m.

The Wintersdorfer Faschingsclub (WFC) celebrates its 36th season under the motto "Ob Folk Music or Rock am Ring". On February 15, a colorful carnival afternoon will take place for 10 euros (adults). On March 22nd and 1st there will be two evening events that start at 7.11 p.m. with an entrance fee of 15 euros.

The Carnival Club Trebenia (FCT) is presented with its 50th anniversary under the motto "The FCT in the Pleißenland has been known for 50 years". A children's carnival takes place on February 15, with an entry of 3 euros for children and 5 euros for adults. Both main events are planned for February 22nd and March 1st, each at 6.11 p.m.

In addition to the carnival events, many special events in Altenburg are planned in 2023. These include the traditional Altenburger Museum Night, the Altenburg Skatstadtmarathon as well as various markets and festivals. New in the program is the "Lange Liszt Nacht" on May 27, which promises a wide range of music, literature, dance, art and theater. Furthermore, the Altenburg Children's Museum Night on March 3 is expected as a new highlight in the series of events.
