Altenburg, Deutschland - The countdown is running: On Friday, November 29th, Altenburg is transformed into a winter wonderland! The Christmas market will open at 5:30 p.m. and the trombone choir Altenburg provides festive sounds from the town hall balcony. As early as Thursday afternoon, the first visitors can explore the huts and look forward to mulled wine and roasted almonds. A real festival for the senses is imminent!

This year the city has some exciting innovations in their luggage! The popular "Christmas bingo" takes place on Thursdays, where great prizes are waiting for the participants. And for all celebrations there is an after-work party with DJ Steffen Flash, which invites you to rock with mulled wine. A very special highlight is the city bet on Santa Claus Day: Mayor André Neumann challenges the Altenburger to gather 100 people in Santa Claus or Frau costumes on the market. If you can do it, you have the chance of great prices, while the mayor disguises the consultation hour on the desired sheet letterbox in the event of a defeat as a grin!

The "Change hut" is so popular that there will be three of them this year! Here visitors can discover handmade products from different materials. For the little guests there is the "Christmas reading magic" and the opportunity to throw your wish list to Santa Claus in the popular desired letter box - guaranteed with an answer if it is thrown in by December 19th!

The Christmas market also offers a traditional culinary offer of 16 dealers, an atmospheric crib and a festively illuminated tree in front of the town hall. The popular mulled wine party with DJ Steve Win takes place every Friday evening, and the small railway is supplemented by another carousel.
