Power price reduction in Neumünster: 100 euros saving for households!

Neumünster. On January 1, 2025 there will be an exciting turn for the electricity in Neumünster! Stadtwerke Neumünster (SWN) lower the electricity price, not without reason! Thanks to a dramatic reduction in network charges of 33 percent, around 55,000 households and corporate customers can benefit from gross 3.96 cents per kilowatt hour. The current labor price of 39.9 cents is therefore noticeably cheaper, while the basic price remains stable at 158.27 euros per year.

An average household that consumes 2500 kilowatt hours annually can look forward to saving around 100 euros per year-that's around 8.5 percent less! This positive message will soon end up in the customers' mailboxes, because it has been the first price change since July 2023. The SWN spokeswoman Saskia Ullrich explains that the reduction in network charges will benefit customers directly. "This enables us to pass on the cost savings directly to our customers," she says.

No relief for natural gas and district heating customers

But not all customers can look forward to! The approximately 18,000 natural gas customers of the SWN have to adjust to stable prices because the gas price 2025 remains unchanged. The last decline in July 2023 brought the price from 16 to 11.4 cents per kilowatt hour, but that is still well above the level of before inflation and the Ukraine war when a kilowatt hour cost only 6.22 cents. Districtory customers also have to do without relief, since the different price components change slightly, but will not be noticeable for end customers. A clear message: During the electricity price, the gas and district heating price remains stable- a mixed balance for customers in Neumünster!
