A shocking traffic accident on the A81 near Ludwigsburg injured four people on Sunday evening! The incident occurred shortly after the Ludwigsburg-Nord junction and led to a temporary full closure of the motorway in the direction of Heilbronn.
A dramatic collision occurred around 10 p.m. when a 54-year-old driver was apparently inattentive and crashed into the trailer of the vehicle in front of him. This collision pushed the vehicle to the left, where it collided with two other cars. The result? There was chaos on the road as the vegetables transported in the trailer were spread everywhere!
Injuries and significant property damage
Fortunately, the four drivers only suffered minor injuries and were immediately taken to nearby hospitals. The police estimate the material damage caused at around 90,000 euros! All four vehicles had to be towed away, which further aggravated the situation.
Two hours of traffic jams and chaos
The A81 was completely closed for around two hours while emergency services from the fire department, rescue service and motorway maintenance department were on site to manage the situation and redirect traffic. Further proof of how quickly dramatic situations can develop on the motorways!
