Apsilon from Moabit: With skin like fur, he conquers the rap scene!
APSILON, an emerging rapper from Berlin-Moabit, took an important step in his music career with his new album "Haut and fur". The work that he calls his debut not only shows his artistic versatility, but also his ability to tackle profound social issues. Since 2021, the talented artist has attracted attention with his well thought -out texts that play with a mixture of provocation and sensitivity.
In a conversation with the German press agency, APSILON explains that his music is based on a clear message: "I make music that comes from the heart, which is very honest and of course also puts his finger in the wound with German society." This tendency towards openness and honesty is a trademark of his art and is reflected in every song.
Migration and personal stories
with "skin like fur" APSILON highlights the lifestyle of a new generation in Berlin. His songs research the experiences of immigrants and their descendants, in particular that of his own family, which came to Germany as guest workers at the end of the 1970s. APSILON says: "Of course, migration also plays a role in music because it is part of my life." This not only offers a personal perspective, but also contributes to the multitude of votes in the German music scene.
Despite its cultural roots, APSILON does not see himself as a mouthpiece of a specific community. Rather, he would like to tell his own stories: "I just want to tell my own story, put my life on the sheet and into the ears of the people." In his appearances, however, he feels that his texts offer a point of identification for many that people feel seen.
The topics that APSILON deals with in his texts range from social grievances to personal experiences to family stories. He is convinced that art has a transformative force. "Music can create a very common, collective experience. And I think I can have collective experiences, can also have a political effect," he emphasizes. His thinking shows how important it is for him to emotionally immerse yourself in his world.
The way to the debut album
His debut album comprises 14 songs, including interesting collaborations. Particularly noteworthy is the cooperation with the aspiring singer Paula Hartmann for the track "gray". He also received attention through his appearance in Jan Böhmermann's ZDF program with the song "Baba", a tribute to his father, in which he was supported by friends and even his younger brother Arman. "Without him, I couldn't have done the album," says Apsilon, which illustrates the close relationship and the influence of his brother on the creative process.
APSILON plans to continue to grow artistically with his team and to reach his listeners with honest, authentic music. "Staying real is my wish," he says, and his fans can get prepared for many other understandable stories. The cultural and music room in Germany enriches a unique perspective through its contribution, the voices of migrants and their descendants put in the middle of the event.
