A dramatic traffic accident shook Latendorf on Monday evening, November 18, 2024, around 5:26 p.m. A passenger car came off the street and landed in a field, which immediately heralded the alarm bells of the cooperative regional control center West in Elmshorn. The volunteer fire brigades from Latendorf, Boostedt and Rickling were mobilized with the operational keyword "Th y" to help as quickly as possible.

When the first emergency services arrived, the situation was tense. A seriously injured person was in the accident, and the fire brigade immediately started rescue. Fortunately, the use of hydraulic rescue equipment was not necessary because the occupants were not trapped. A second injured person was able to leave the car independently and was immediately cared for by the emergency services. Both patients were transported to the surrounding clinics after the primary care by emergency doctors.

Around 80 emergency services from the fire brigade and emergency services were involved in this dramatic operation. The fire brigade secured the accident site, provided fire protection and stabilized the accident vehicle. In addition, the site was illuminated to prepare the landing site for the rescue helicopter Christoph 42. During the entire use, the main street remained closed in both directions of travel so as not to hinder the rescue measures.

Details on the injured, the amount of damage and the cause of the accident are currently not known. The police Segeberg and Pinneberg continue to investigate. The fire brigade and the emergency services have given everything to act quickly and efficiently in this critical situation.
