Strike arm in Schleswig-Holstein: Bus drivers put down work tomorrow!
Kreis Plön, Deutschland - alarm mood in Schleswig-Holstein! Tomorrow the big strike begins in the private bus industry, and commuters are facing a chaos! The ver.di union proclaimed the industrial action after almost 99 percent of the members voted for permanent strikes. "We have no other way out than to start this mandatory strike," explains ver.di negotiator Sascha Bähring. The reason: the employers simply tilted a previously negotiated tariff compromise!
The dispute over the collective agreement
The tensions have exploded! A collective bargaining agreement that provided for a salary increase of 275 euros and an inflation equalization base of 850 euros was revised by the employers. They rely on financial bottlenecks through cuts on the part of the state government. "Employers misused the employees as a savings instrument," said Bähring. The entire bus industry in Schleswig-Holstein, which includes around 1,700 buses, is now affected!
But that's not all! There are some buses that are supposed to drive despite strike. Autraft GmbH and other transport companies have published connections that are carried out according to plan. But be careful: ver.di also thinks about spontaneous strikes without notice! The union could strike anywhere and at any time, which would further tighten the situation for the commuters.
conversations are on
The reactions of the employers are clear: Klaus Schmidt from the Omnibusverband Nord describes the strikes as "meaningless" and invites you to negotiate. But the pressure increases! The shadows of the uncertain future of public transport in rural regions cannot be overlooked. While the union hopes for a quick agreement, it remains to be seen how employers will react. The next few days could be decisive for the future of bus traffic in Schleswig-Holstein!
