Warm invitation: Help at the Thanksgiving Festival in Pinneberg!

On this special day, which is a way for many Christians to express gratitude for the harvest, the municipality calls for a food donation campaign. The donations are used to decorate the altar for Thanksgiving service, which takes place on October 6th at 10 a.m.

The food collected are then distributed in two ways to the needy. Pastor Julia Radtke informs that durable foods are filled in bags by committed volunteers. These food bags are issued monthly by the Holy Spirit Social panel. Foods contained in the bags include potatoes, cabbage and pumpkins that are used every day from Monday to Friday for warm lunch meals.

The head of the daily stay, Susanne Wilk, told the pastor that the need for food is greater than ever. "This observation can confirm the Holy Spirit-Social panel. This completely free offer is well received and is fully financed by church taxes and donations," says the pastor.

The fundraising campaign is aimed specifically at durable foods that can be stored unkapped. On Saturday, October 5, the food donations will be accepted from the Heilig-Geist Church in Ulmenallee 9 in Pinneberg from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The municipality therefore asks to only give certain foods, such as potatoes, pumpkins, cabbage, apples, but also conserves, coffee, muesli, jam and cookie.

In addition to the Holy Spirit Church, the Lutherkirche in Pinneberg also collects food donations for the Pinneberger Tafel. The delivery point is also open on Saturday, October 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lutherkirche, Kirchhofsweg 76a.
