Great fire in Tornesch: 60 firefighters fight against garbage fire!

Tornesch, Deutschland - A fire in a waste disposal company in Tornesch ensured an intensive fire service on Tuesday afternoon, which lasted over four hours. In total, more than 60 emergency services from various fire departments were involved, but there was no injuries and no danger to the surrounding population. The incident reached its peak when the train alarm was triggered in a garbage bunker at 1:07 p.m. after the fire broke out. Despite the immediate measures of the operating staff, the fire spread to other areas of the large waste disposal hall.

After the alarm, the fire brigade Tornesch, led by military leader Florian Jungclaus, arrived as the first unit at the scene. They determined a dense smoke development and increased the alarm status to "Feu G", which resulted in a complete alarm by the Tornesch fire brigade and the requirement of the aerial ladder of the fire brigade Uetersen. As a result, the fire brigades Ellerhoop and Kummerfeld were also called to provide additional breathing apparatus wearers.

intensive extinguishing measures

The emergency services and the operating staff worked closely together to combat the fire from several directions. This cooperative approach paid off because the fire brigade was able to report "fire - reverting" at 4:10 p.m. Despite the initial assumption that the operation would take much longer, this happened due to the strong smoke development and the compact focal of fire.

At 4:50 p.m., the firefighters handed over the site to the operator of the waste disposal company and were able to initiate the return to the tool shed a little later. Despite the scope of the mission, the situation remained under control, and the fire brigade was able to ensure that there were no dangers to the residents. The district military leader Stefan Mohr was also on site and supported the operations management throughout the mission.

Details on the cause of the fire and the amount of the damage have not yet been available, since this information has not been published by the fire brigade association. The exact examination will probably be initiated by appropriate places in the coming days.

The forces that were involved in this effort are made up of various fire departments: 27 members of the Tornesch fire brigade with seven vehicles, three from the Uetersen fire brigade with a vehicle, 10 from the Ellerhoop fire brigade with two vehicles and 20 from the Kummerfeld fire department with three vehicles. In addition, three forces from the Pinneberg district fire brigade association as well as the police and emergency services were deployed.

The Pinneberg district fire brigade association is available for further information and details. Questions can be addressed to the press spokesman Dennis Fuchs and Thorsten Hintz.
