Fire in the car dealership: Children light garden dandruff - 3000 euros damage!
A dramatic incident occurred on Monday evening, September 30th, in Kellinghusen when the fire brigade was called to a major fire in the area of the Hellwig & Fölster dealership. As early as the journey, the emergency services were able to perceive a massive column of smoke that was visible for miles. When the fire brigade arrived, it turned out that a garden dandruff burned to a full extent, which required an immediate alarm from other weirs from Rosdorf and Wrist as well as an ambulance.
The Kellinghusen volunteer fire brigade, supported by a total of 45 firefighters, was able to contain the fire under respiratory protection and prevent the surrounding buildings, including the car dealership, were affected. After about two hours the operation was successfully completed and there were no personal injury, but the dandruff burned completely.
Cause of the fire: Children suspected
The police took up the cause of the fire and assumes negligent arson. According to the spokeswoman for the police, Merle Neufeld, two children were responsible for the fire. These had previously experimented with fire in the area of the fire location and thereby caused the devastating misfortune. The youngest of the two is only eight years old, the age of the other boy is not yet known.
The two children even alerted the emergency services when they noticed the dimensions of the fire. The property damage amounts to around 3000 euros, a significant loss, especially for the owner of the destroyed shed.
