Travel alone: 54% of Germans enjoy freedom and self -discovery!
Travel alone - a trend that inspires more and more Germans! According to a current survey by YouGov on behalf of Getyourguide, 54 percent of Germans aged 16 and over have already undertaken a solo trip. This means that many enjoy freedom and independence, which is accompanied by sole travel. But what are the reasons for this exciting trend? A clear advantage is that you do not have to take the wishes of a different consideration. Flexibility and spontaneity are at the top of the list of reasons why more and more people are choosing a trip without accompaniment.
But that's not all! A remarkable aspect of the survey shows that 20 percent of the respondents indicate that solely trips strengthen their self -confidence. Women in particular benefit from this: 25 percent feel more confident due to the solo adventure, while only 15 percent of men feel the same. A clear indication that it is not only a trip to new countries, but also to yourself!
Challenges of sole travel
but not everything is rosy! The survey also highlighted the concerns of people on the subject of sole trips. The most common concerns are boredom, dangerous situations and the general aversion to being alone. But the biggest argument against solo trips remains the longing for common memories. Many want to share their experiences with others so as not to enjoy the most beautiful moments alone.
A total of 2,090 people were interviewed and the online survey took place in early September. The results clearly show that traveling alone is an exciting way to discover your own personality and explore the world at the same time!
