Großenbrode. During the night on Friday there was a spectacular accident that stopped the forces! A car and a van crashed together after the 80-year-old driver overlooked the delivery van. While the driver of the parcel service was taken to the hospital injured, the older gentleman was lucky.

The collision was violent! Both vehicles were badly damaged and the Grossenbrode fire brigade was quickly on site. "We were alerted into trapped people, but luckily it was not confirmed," reported operations manager Jan Koblitz. Two ambulances, an emergency doctor and the fire brigade were deployed to cope with the Situation and provide medical care for the drivers.

Accident directly at the petrol station

The fire brigade took care of the leaked operating materials and cleaned the road while the packages were collected from the van on the street side. A strange moment: The 80-year-old got his folding bike out of the badly damaged car and cycled home to the island of Fehmarn after an examination by the emergency services! The federal road 207 was closed for about 90 minutes, which led to a slight backlog in both directions. So far there has been no information from the police about the amount of damage. Around 26 fire brigade were on site to master the situation.
