Eutiner Wind celebrates 25 years of shanty choir: a maritime anniversary!

Eutin, Deutschland - Eutin, October 24, 2024 - a milestone in maritime music history is celebrated! The shanty choir "Eutiner Wind", whose roots are in a frosty Klön evening in 1999 in the sailor club on the Großiner See, recently celebrated its 25th anniversary with a grandiose benefit concert in favor of the Ostholstein Society. This maritime success story shows that, despite the lack of port, Eutin lives with heart and soul maritime tradition!

The musical journey of the "Eutiner Wind"

25 active singers are behind choir director Peter Ernst, who fascinate with a varied repertoire. "We not only sing traditional sailor songs, we also have many maritime Christmas carols in our luggage," explains Ernst Video. At birthday parties, anniversaries and national festivals by the sea, the voices of the Eutiner are unmistakable. Even at well -known events such as the Kiel Week or on board the historic large sailor "Rickmer Rickmers", they all captivate them. But they experience their really beneficial appearances in local nursing homes, where their music often touches hearts and brings joy. A positive response that gives strength!

a happy evening with a lot of community sense

The evening in the fully occupied large gatehouse was a festival of emotions. Greetings from the deputy district president Rainer Rüberhofer, deputy mayor Monika Obieray and Pastor Volker Prahl accompanied the importance of the choir for the region. The first sounds let the guests immerse themselves in maritime realms, followed by a social exchange during the break in which the history of the choir came to life. After the refreshment shake, it went into the second musical half, and Peter Ernst took the opportunity to advertise new members: "We rehearse every Wednesday from 6 p.m.. New faces, whether men or women, are always welcome!" Sailor songs not only bring joy, but also community - and that is the real wind that blows through Eutin!
