Behind the Scenes: This is how a comparse lives on the set of north near Northwest
Fehmarn's picturesque took place, which not only offered the extras, but also the main actors a way to share experiences apart from the headlight light. A creative employee of the Lübeck News was able to participate as an extras in the popular crime series "Nord near Nordwest". Already with the preparation call with her 93-year-old grandma, the excitement was noticeable when she advised to put on something "nice" to look good in front of the camera.
A selection of outfits was prepared on the tendency, whereby the costume designer selected an olive-colored jacket to meet the requirements of the set. The guidelines for the clothing were clear: no bright colors and by no means black or white. These considerations are important in order not to distract the viewers from the main actors. The setting was lovingly prepared and testified to the team's professionalism.
excitement on the set
arrived at the set, the nervousness quickly evaporated. A warm welcome from the other extras and actors, including Hinnerk Schönemann and Cem Ali Gültekin, ensured that the newcomers immediately felt welcome. There was even their own trailer for the extras, which made the day even more special.
A completely new aspect was the director, who guided the events with a clear and quiet command. "Rehearsal", she called and immediately came a silence that was crucial for the shooting day. It became clear that everyone, whether irrelevant or not, played a role in the overall picture. With adhesive strips on the dike from Orth, it was marked precisely, where the main actors and extras had to be.
filming and joy
It quickly became clear that even the smallest roles had an impact on overall production. While Cem Ali Gültekin was in front of the camera as a Mehmet Ösker, the extras had the task of walking a certain way that required coordinated movements. The feedback after the recordings was encouraging as far as the camera caravan was concerned. "Completed", everyone who contributed to the scene in any way.
A lunch was organized, and the catering exceeded expectations with varied options. Salads, pasta and even vegan dishes were available. These opportunities for exchange not only had social, but also informal character, which created friendships among the extras. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly when you already felt like old acquaintances after the first day together.
After eating, turning switched to the next backdrop, where it was about a fish stand. The extras was instructed how it should fit into the picture with the purchase of rolls and cola. Such instructions seemed surprisingly simple, but turned out to be so easy - there were numerous repetitions until the director was finally satisfied.
The day ended quickly for everyone involved, and the question of whether the appearance would actually be seen in the picture remained open. The episode "Pechmarie" is only broadcast in 2026, which further increases the tension sheet for the extras. The commitment and experience behind the scenes give a fascinating insight into the world of television, whereas the anticipation of the actual charisma hangs in the air for years.
