Kieler Straße in Neumünster: Finally free again after construction work!

Good news for all drivers in Neumünster! Kieler Strasse will be released for traffic on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 3 p.m. Thanks to the rapid work to relocate the new Gas main supply management, which were completed four weeks earlier than planned, road users can again drive the street between the Total petrol station and the Preetzer Landstrasse in both directions. "We are very good on schedule," says Bernhard Wegner, project manager of Schleswig-Holstein Netz GmbH (SH Netz).

Detours and one -way regulations fall away

The new main pension management was successfully put into operation on Monday, and by the end of the week, all diversions and the one -way regulation that has been in effect since the end of August. "After four years of construction, Kieler Straße can be accessed again without restrictions," explains Wegner. The entry bans from Preetzer Landstrasse to Lindenallee and the Rüschdal as well as the ban on truck in the adjacent residential streets are also lifted to reduce sneak traffic.

But the work is not yet complete: the connection of the house connections to the new gas supply management takes place in daily construction sites in the walking and cycle path area. "This leads to little impairments for pedestrians and cyclists," emphasizes Wegner. The entire construction measure, in which the old gas steel line was replaced by a modern PE plastic line over a length of around 3.2 kilometers, is expected to be completed by mid-December. In total, the network operator has invested around three million euros in this project since 2021.
