Matinee with Daniel Fritzen: Experience masterpieces of classical music in Lübeck!

on Sunday, January 19, 2025, the first of a total of twelve matinee concerts starts in Haus Eden in Lübeck. The concerts take place on the third Sunday of a month at 11 a.m. and admission takes place at a voluntary height by a hat treasury. This series aims to address a wide audience and familiarize it with classical music.

The program for the first concert includes works by large composers such as Beethoven, Chopin, Rachmaninov, J.S. Bach and MacDowell. The pianist Daniel Fritzen will also present an exciting program scheme in spring, which includes works by Bach, Prokofjev, Debussy and Liszt. The aim is to introduce the audience to new and interesting works and to have it participated in its enthusiasm for the repertoire during the moderated event.

The program of the Matinee concerts

The program design will offer contrasts during this concert. In the first half, the 4th piano sonata op. 29 by Sergej Prokofieff, a dark sound painting, as well as the 5th partita in G major by J.S. Liszt, which are considered melodic-romantic.

Daniel Fritzen will give insights into the respective works before and during the concert and has made a name for itself in the music world. Born in 1978 in Hofheim am Taunus, he completed his studies at the Lübeck University of Music and the University of California in Los Angeles. He is not only active as a piano teacher, but also as a chamber musician and is committed to contemporary music.
