Autumn plaster in the Schwerin Zoo: Animal spectators and hardworking helpers!

Schweriner Zoo, Schwerin, Deutschland - In the Schwerin Zoo there is a lot of hustle and bustle! Over 100 committed helpers from Schwerin, Lower Saxony and Lübeck have gathered to actively tackle the large autumn plaster. While the animals watch curiously, the voluntary tons of leaves shovel into large bigbags. "This is our family outing," explains Martin Seemann, who takes part in the campaign with his family and has already filled five sacks. The enthusiasm is noticeable, because many helpers are not only unique, but have been supporting the zoo for years.

Community campaign in the zoo

On the 25 hectare area, not only leaves are collected, but also new habitats for insects and birds are created. Cornelia Dakowski, who became aware of the campaign by calling, is enthusiastic about the community performance and plans to get an annual ticket for the zoo. Peter Brandt and his wife are also on site to actively support their animal sponsorship for a nose bear. "We often come here," says Brandt as he gets down

The cool autumn air does not stop the helpers! Ramona Stein from the zoo serves hot tea and coffee to loosen up the mood. "We haven't seen each other for 30 years," says Ronny Pagel, who meets old friends at the autumn cleaning. The joy of seeing reunion and working together combines the participants. The newly elected chairman Stefanie Pohlner is also part of the party and takes the opportunity to combine her passion for geo-caching with the support of the zoo. "This is one of the most beautiful places in Schwerin," she enthuses.

Anne Schilling from the zoo already announces the next spring plaster, in which the cutting of shrubs is on the program. The helpers can look forward to another opportunity to work for the zoo and have fun together. A thank-you inheritance stew with sausages rounds off the successful action and lets the participants wait for the next joint campaign.
