Autumn plaster in the Schwerin Zoo: Record number of helpers helps!

Schweriner Zoo, 19061 Schwerin, Deutschland - In the Schwerin Zoo, an impressive participant record was set up on November 16, 2024! Almost 100 committed volunteers came together to actively help with traditional autumn plaster. This is a remarkable increase compared to previous years, in which only half of the helpers were present. This great support shows how many people are willing to work to maintain the zoo.

The hardworking helpers not only came from the Schwerin region, but also from far away, even from Lower Saxony, Lübeck and Stuttgart! Together they grabbed and collected leaves, worked on new fences and cleaned the glass facades in the Red List Center. Several hundred sacks of leaves were filled! This campaign is particularly important because maintaining the zoo system in the cold season is a real challenge. Autumn plaster is not only practical help, but also a sign of the community spirit and the connection with nature.

valuable support for the zoo

The volunteers make an invaluable contribution to the preservation of the zoo system with their efforts. Autumn plaster is a tradition that not only beautifies the area around the zoo, but also facilitates the preparations for the winter. The cooperation between the helpers and the zoo team shows how important such actions are for animal care and maintenance of the facilities. The Schwerin Zoo can count itself lucky to count on so many committed supporters!
