Professor Dr. Volkert Faltings, a passionate fighter for the Frisian language and culture from Utersum on Föhr, was awarded for his tireless efforts. Films, which launched the popular radio broadcast "Friisk Funk" and taught at the only school until 2015, on which the Abitur in Friesisch can be taken, has made a name that radiates far beyond the borders of North Frisia.
