Change of coach in handball: Lohrbach is starting in Großwallstadt!

The handball world surprisingly moved: André Lohrbach, the previous coach of TSV Altenholz and the THW Kiel Junior, has made an immediate switch to TV Großwallstadt. This happened only three weeks after the announcement of his farewell at the end of the season. The club from the second division, which is currently in eleventh place, was looking for a new coach and found the right man for the task with Lohrbach, who had done promising work in Altenholz and Kiel. The contracts were signed

at the weekend, and Lohrbach will take over the training of the Lower Franconia on Tuesday. This rapid development follows the separation of Großwallstadt from her previous Trainer Michael Roth last September. The former handball top club suffers from her current sporting location and awaits new impulses from Lohrbach to assert itself in the front of the league.

The motivation behind the change

Lohrbach expressed an enthusiasm for the new opportunity: "For me, TV Großwallstadt offers a great chance to take the next step. Therefore I am grateful to those responsible for TSV Altenholz and the THW juniors that they would give me this opportunity." His previous experiences as a player and trainer, including the A license, have made it possible for him to assert himself at this level.

The TV Großwallstadt reacted to the unsatisfactory sporting development with this coaching decision, which has been in the second division 2020 since the return. Managing Director Michael Spatz explained that they were looking for a trainer who works meticulously and goal -oriented, and Lohrbach convinced them of his skills in conversations.

Now the TSV Altenholz will be faced with the challenge of finding a new trainer to prepare for the upcoming away game against HSG Ostsee on Friday. Managing Director Matthias Fehrke said: "A change of coach in the middle of the season is very challenging. We let André go with a heavy heart. Ultimately, we knew that this situation would occur once, because André has become interesting for many clubs due to his success." Talks with possible successors have already started to ensure that the team quickly gets back on the right track.

The rapid developments around Lohrbach not only show his career steps, but also the dynamic changes in the handball landscape. It remains to be seen how the situation develops for Lohrbach in Großwallstadt and Altenholz. Further information about this change can be found here .
