Rapp surprises with blind football: a trainer discovers new perspectives!
Kiel. An unexpected moment after the training of Holstein Kiel : coach Marcel Rapp ventured into unknown waters! While the players retired to the cabin, Rapp experienced a very special challenge. Invited by Alexander Ramm, an enthusiastic fan who suffers from progressive eye disease, the 45-year-old tried blind football for the first time.
With an blindfold on the head, Rapp stepped on the lawn to feel the life of a person who only sees half a keyhole. While he kicked with the almost blind ram, the sound of the rattles that are integrated into the blind football was his only orientation. "This is very exhausting for the head," said Rapp after his first attempts to walk.

The challenge was not only a sporty, but also a mental one! Rapp announced that he may want to implement this experience in future training sessions for his players in order to sharpen their perception. In the past, he had already used similar methods to raise awareness of the professionals. Thanks to Alexander Ramm, who, despite his illness, fights tirelessly for his club, has rediscovered this innovative training method. An inspiring example that redefines the connection between sport and empathy!
