Preetz. A shocking move! Jörg Schimmel, the dynamic entrepreneur behind the traditional company Walter Fiedler, decided to move his company from Preetz to Kiel. The reason? A massive disappointment about the "active non -support" of the city of Preetz. Schimmel, who took over the company in 2002, wanted to expand, but the city offered no help. In Kiel, on the other hand, the red carpet was rolled out!

The story of Walter Fiedler goes back to 1925 when the Fiedler brothers founded the company. Mold took over the company with 14 employees and has enlarged it to 35 specialists. The turnover of 6 million euros speaks for itself! But the money he would have wanted to invest in Preetz now stays in Kiel. "We pay trade taxes in a five -digit amount," explains Schimmel, who blames the city of Preetz for the missed opportunity.

Schimmel wanted to drag into Preetz

The entrepreneur had big plans: he wanted to dred off the old landfill in Preetz and use the area for his expansion. But the city of Preetz rejected its proposal for fear of contaminated sites. Schimmel was ready to invest up to 400,000 euros in the renovation, but the city saw no opportunity to work. Instead, he found a new home for his company in Kiel and acquired 5000 square meters of expansion area there.

Kiel cheers through the newcomer

Kiel is enthusiastic about the settlement! Einar Rubin from the Kiel Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft praises the "fair conversations" and the "top atmosphere" at the conclusion of the contract. Schimmel itself is satisfied, but cannot understand why a solution with Preetz was not possible. Preetz Mayor Tim Brockmann cannot comment on the events, since he was not in office at the time. However, the city has few areas that are suitable for business, and the plans for the Wakendorf industrial area are in length. Schimmel has left the city of Preetz behind - and Kiel is happy about the new, up -and -coming company!
