Günther demands openness: Coalitions with Greens and FDP do not exclude!
Kiel, Deutschland - Kiel - alarm mood in the Union! The Schleswig-Holstein Prime Minister Daniel Günther (CDU) demands more openness in the coalition question at the federal level. "I will advertise my party for my own strength: do not operate exclusively, but of course we can rule with all three parties after a choice," he explains in an interview with politico. A clear call not to restrict the political possibilities!
Günther has a clear opinion on the Greens: "The language regulation should be rather reserved, but nevertheless no coalition with the Greens." While Markus Söder is the only one to represent this view, Günther shows that he is ready to look outside the box. He emphasizes the cooperation with Robert Habeck particularly positively: "So with Robert Habeck it definitely works well." His experiences in Schleswig-Holstein speak for themselves-a trusting cooperation that focuses on solutions!
criticism of the traffic lights and the FDP
Not all partnerships are rosy for Günther. He sees the cooperation with Christian Lindner critically: "In this alliance, I did not find that the FDP was a load -bearing force in this coalition, but rather played opposition within a government." A clear sign that the Union does not approve of the performance of the traffic light coalition. "I think that the three parties have not drawn a good picture now and that everyone also has a large part of the responsibility for the fact that there is such great annoyance in Germany and so little trust in politics," says Günther. Even the Greens in Berlin don't get a good testimony from him: "I don't think that they did an outstanding job in Berlin."
The statements of Günther are a clear wake -up call for the Union, to expand the political possibilities and to examine the cooperation across party borders. The question remains: How will the Union react to this appeal?
