Kiel. On October 31, the Reformation Day, not everything remains closed in Schleswig-Holstein! While many shops are closed for the holiday, there are numerous opportunities to shop in the regions around Kiel, Rendsburg, Plön and Bad Segeberg. The spa regulation allows some supermarkets and shops in tourist areas to be open on public holidays. This applies especially to the coastal towns on the North and Baltic Sea.

The bath regulation enables business to open for six hours between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. on public holidays such as the Reformation Day. This means that many supermarkets in Schleswig-Holstein, which offer goods of everyday needs, are accessible to customers. But be careful! The decision to actually open is still at the discretion of the business owner.

While the districts of Falckenstein and Friedrichsort benefit from the bathing regulation, the city center of Kiel remains closed on the holiday.
