Housing shortage for students: New home opened in Flensburg!

In Schleswig-Holstein it is bubbling! A new student dormitory is now opened on the campus of the European University of Flensburg to counteract the urgent shortage of housing for students. From February 2025, 159 students will find an affordable home here. But the situation remains tense: currently 300 students are still on the waiting list for the coveted 500 apartments. The new building, which was financed with almost 13 million euros, is already the third dormitory in Flensburg within seven years.

But that's not all that moves the region! The first trial of a drug dealer ring begins in front of the district court Flensburg, which is said to have sold anesthetic worth six million euros since 2018. The ten defendants, including nine men and a woman between the ages of 22 and 44, were arrested in a large -scale raid in May. They are said to have sold a ton of marijuana, half a ton of amphetamines, almost 30 kilograms of cocaine and 27,000 ecstasy pills in the Flensburg area. Negotiations against the other suspects are pending in the coming days.
