Salt, tradition and splendor: Halloren inspires visitors at Schausiedetag

Visitors experienced a fascinating look into the traditional world of salt boiling on the saltworks area, where the art of “pan boiling” was brought to life! Large pans, hot brine - this is an impressive demonstration of how precious salt is made from water! The Hallors, true masters of their craft, enthusiastically explained every step of the boiling process and took the audience into the magical history of salt production. Halle shines not only with its precious salt, but also with the historic Hallor Brotherhood, a living reminder of the city's importance!

Brilliant traditions and festive costumes

But that wasn't everything! At the same time as the show, the sensational exhibition “In Velvet and Dignities – Halloren in Festive Dress” was presented. Festive costumes of the Hallors were displayed on impressive steles in the Salinehof - magnificently made with great attention to detail! These special costumes are only used on exceptional occasions and reflect the honor of this unique community. The combination of tradition and artistry is a real feast for the eyes and was admired by the wide-eyed guests!

And not to forget: The exhibition “After the Machines: Industrial Photography from Saxony-Anhalt” in the Technical Halloren and Saline Museum, which highlights the industrial history of the region. Here, those interested can understand the interactions between crafts and machine work that have shaped the economy of Saxony-Anhalt.

The public boiling day was a complete success! The event was filled with lively interest and conversations. Visitors had the opportunity to purchase the famous “Hallore evaporated salt” as a unique souvenir and take a piece of Halle tradition home with them. This event impressively proves that the historical art of salt boiling is not only preserved, but kept alive. A true gem for Halle (Saale) and its guests!
