Werdau celebrates: Christmas market enchants with booth magic and more!

The festive days are just around the corner in Werdau! The traditional Christmas market will open on Thursday, December 12th. For four days, the marketplace transforms into a magic world of 24 lovingly decorated booths, such as RadioZwickau.de Mayor Sören Kristensen will ceremoniously inaugurate the market at 2 p.m. and thus give the starting signal for an extensive program. From now on, visitors can stroll through the festive scenery every day from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and look forward to numerous treats and gifts.

a festival for big and small

The Christmas market in Werdau has something to offer for everyone. Children can look forward to Santa Claus, who takes the Christmas wishes in his hut under the large Christmas tree from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and distributes small gifts. For the little ones there is even a mini railway that is doing happy rounds. Together with schools, clubs and music groups, a varied stage program is offered, which begins on Friday with a magic show by "Julian the Magician". Appearance from dance groups and other artists follow on the following days. On Sunday the Christmas market will be completed at 1 p.m. with the traditional Zwickau city peppers, such as Blick.de

The Christmas decorated huts not only invite you to be amazed, but also for feasting! In addition to proven grill specialties, wild dishes, soups and a special selection of pastries from local craft are offered. A highlight for many visitors is the historic town hall, which opens for tours on December 14th. Here is the opportunity to find out about the history of the building and to admire the festive exhibitions. A huge advent wreath also enhances the marketplace, decorated with lanterns and Christmas tree decorations. This festive event promises to become a very special experience for the whole family!
