Shock in Wittenberg: Dead twins discovered in apartment!
In a shocking incident in Wittenberg, Saxony-Anhalt, two dead infants were discovered in an apartment on the night from Sunday to Monday. The two girls, who apparently only died shortly after birth, were found in bags in a bathtub. The 29-year-old mother, who alerted the emergency services for severe abdominal pain, was taken to the hospital, where doctors came across an already advanced pregnancy.
The tragedy started when a mother of the mother, apparently the grandmother, wanted to take clothes to the hospital. During her visit to the apartment on Collegienstrasse, she made the gruesome find. After opening the first bag and discovering a dead baby, she immediately alerted the police. The investigators arrived around 6:30 p.m. and also found the second baby. An autopsy showed that both twin girls were viable at the time of birth, but died of lack of oxygen.
Investigations and prison application
The homicide commission cordoned off the apartment while the evidence was used for hours. A application for prison was made against the mother because there is suspicion of manslaughter by refraining from. The prosecutor Frank Pieper said that the circumstances of the case required an in -depth investigation. The mother is currently in custody while the investigation continues.
