Important construction work: Elbersdorfer Straße fully blocked from October 7th!

From October 7, 2024, an important road construction project will start in Elbersdorf, which is expected to last until November 15th. It is the renewal of the K 8714, also known as Elbersdorfer Straße, which is carried out over a length of about 770 meters between the outskirts and the link to the K 8704, Wünschendorfer Straße.

The work includes the complete removal of the previous asphalt ceiling and the installation of new layers of support and cover. In addition, the banquets, i.e. the areas belonging to the streets, are repaired and the existing drainage trenches and troughs are re -profiled. The paving troughs are also restored or reorganized. Strabag AG, Saxon Bergland group from Dippoldiswalde, was commissioned to carry out these measures.

financing and traffic redirection

The costs for the project amount to around 287,000 euros. These expenses are covered both from the maintenance flat rate of the Free State of Saxony for road construction and by own funds from the district of Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Mountains. The total costs show how important the maintenance of traffic routes is for the regional infrastructure.

During the construction work, the K 8714 is completely blocked in the affected section. A bypass is set up and leads via the K 8704 to Dürrröhrsdorf, from there via the S 161 and K 8715 to Porschendorf before the route leads back to the K 8714 to Elbersdorf. The competent authorities ask the road users to understand and observe this diversion.

It is worth noting that these construction measures are financed with tax funds that were decided by the Saxon state parliament. Improving the street infrastructure is an essential part of regional development and safety in road traffic.

The repair and renewal of the road surface is of great importance for traffic safety and the driving comfort of the users. Therefore, the progress of the work is pursued with interest, since many residents and commuters are affected by the temporary restrictions.

The upcoming work on Elbersdorfer Straße underline the continuous effort to improve the street infrastructure in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Mountains district. It remains to be hoped that the construction work will run according to schedule and that the residents can benefit from better traffic quality as soon as possible.
