Zschepplin: Parents' contributions rise from 2025 - what you need to know!

In Zschepplin there are changes to the parents' contributions for childcare. At the next meeting of the municipal council, a proposal to adjust these contributions will be on the agenda from 2025. Mayor Kay Kunath, who is independent, has already pointed out the need for a moderate increase that will affect the contributions last in 2020.

Mayor Kunath said that the increase was necessary to take into account the increased grants of the municipality to the municipal children's facilities in Zschepplin, Hohenprießnitz and Naundorf as well as the daycare center in Niederglaucha. This is intended to meet the financial situation of the municipality and the requirements of the local authority. "We also have to show compared to the local authority that we are willing to generate income," said Kunath.

increasing parental contributions

The financial support from the municipality has risen considerably in recent years. While expenditure in 2021 was still 451,000 euros, they climbed to 628,000 euros for 2023. Kunath admits that it "hurt in his soul" to increase the parents' contributions, but the tense cash register situation is forcing the community to take these steps. He describes the present proposals as balanced.

The current proposal stipulates that nine -hour care in the crib will be increased from January 2025 from 225 euros to 240 euros. For kindergarten places, the contribution should increase from 134 euros to 140 euros and for after -school places from 78 euros to 82 euros.

The final decision on this increase lies with the municipal council, which will come together on Tuesday, October 22nd, at 7:30 p.m. in the meeting room of the gym in Zschepplin.

Comparison with surrounding communities

The comparison to the surrounding communities such as Bad Düben, Delitzsch and Eilenburg is also interesting. According to the planned increase, the parental contributions in Zschepplin would be slightly above the average of these communities, which is EUR 234 for the crib, 137 euros for the daycare center and 79 euros for the after -school care center. Nevertheless, there could soon be a need for action in relation to the parents' contributions, since the financial situation of many municipalities is tense.

It is noteworthy that Zschepplin, even with this increase, does not use the scope specified by the Free State. The planned parental contribution to the crib was only 17.79 percent of the actual costs, while the maximum rate is 30 percent. It is assumed that the parents could approach the prescribed minimum limit of 15 percent by 2025, which could affect the financial burden on parents.

These developments in Zschepplin are part of a larger trend that shows how municipalities in the region try to deal with the challenges of childcare. For more detailed information on this topic, see also www.lvz.de .
