North Saxony: 2.2 million euros for modern fire brigade infrastructure!
In the district of North Saxony, significant investments are made in the fire brigade centers (FTZ), a total of around 2.2 million euros are provided. This sum comprises 1.5 million euros in special funding that the Free State provides. The structure and development of the FTZ are of great importance for the security of the region, since these centers support the infrastructure for the voluntary fire departments in Delitzsch, Eilenburg and Torgau.
A new milestone is now set in Oschatz with the creation of another FTZ. On Monday, October 14, 2024, Jens Kabisch's 2nd deputy presented a funding notice of around 380,000 euros to the mayors of the district of the district. This financial support enables the construction of a new hall at the location of the volunteer fire department in Oschatz.
planned infrastructure measures
In this new hall, essential facilities such as a tube washer and suitable cleaning techniques for protective equipment are housed. Another important element is the mobile respiratory protection exercise route, which will find space in the new FTZ and so the training of firefighters should make more effective.
In addition, other FTZ also benefit from the funds provided. For example, the tube washing system in the FTZ Torgau is renewed. The FTZ Delitzsch receives a new industrial machine that is essential for the hygienic cleaning of the operational clothing. These investments are designed to improve the logistics for major damage events by procuring new vehicles and equipment.
"The district is responsible for a central task with these measures. The use of the special funding from the Free State, in combination with the close cooperation of the municipal levels, only makes such projects possible," emphasized Jens Kabisch. Here you consciously rely on flexible and mobile systems that can be adapted and supplemented in line with needs in the coming years.
These steps to improve fire service equipment and infrastructure are crucial in order to guarantee the fire service of the fire brigade and to be able to react quickly and efficiently to the challenges when operating. More information on this topic are on www.l-iz.de Available.
