The charming community, which is home to around 3,500 people, can refer to a remarkable project that strengthens the community feeling of the neighborhood. The Heimatherzen support association, the 39 members of which are fully committed to the concerns of the place, has created a natural garden that appeals to both young and old. This garden is much more than just a place for gardening; It represents an important meeting point for the villagers.

The natural garden in the middle of Laußig is a real joint project. Hundreds of hours of volunteer work flowed into the design, and even the children from the local after -school care and kindergarten participated in the implementation. "Together we created a garden paradise with an outdoor kitchen, where even grown vegetables can be freshly processed and consumed," explains Kern. It is paid to sustainability here, which is not only ecologically sensible, but also ensures a deeper connection between people.

Another exciting aspect of the garden is the small show creditor, which particularly inspires the children. Here you can watch the bees and learn a lot about nature. The natural garden is therefore not only a place for planting and harvesting, but also a lively learning room that raises awareness of ecological topics.

The garden is used in many ways: as a meeting point for the residents, as an outdoor classroom for the local daycare center and for various events of the association. Whether cooking courses, parties or even a summer cinema - the offer is rich and addresses many needs of the residents. "The project promotes the sense of community and strengthens the cooperation in the neighborhood. This is very great," emphasizes the committed local mayor.
